A Year.

Well, this is it! At 11:15 am last June 30 my baby girl was born. Everyone always says they grow so fast---and they do!!! Here is a snapshot of what our little toddler is doing right now, as well as a few snapshots to look at:

She is taking about 3-5 steps at a time before she falls. She crawls like a champion. She has her own word for mama (mama), daddy (dada), puppy (puhpuh--or sometimes dada), ball (bawh), paci (baba), up (puh), nana (nana), papa (papa), balloon (bah-umm), bubble (bah-bumm), hi (hiiiiiiiii), bye (byebye), baseball (baba while clapping) and music/dance (ba-baba-ba---her attempt at the tune of her favorite mickey mouse song). Eats her food and throws some of it. Eats  a variety of different foods. Drinks from a bottle and somewhat from a sippy cup (more on her than in her mouth). Hates to be alone. Persists toward whatever she wants---harder and stronger if she is told no-no. Loves watching other kids and wrestling with the dog (she pins him down). Screams like a girl. Picks things up and hands us things. To be honest there is too much to write down---it is amazing to watch her grow!!!!

Dublin's Birthday Party!!!


We celebrated Dublin's first birthday on her Daddy's first Father's Day (9 days before her birthday)......It was a warm day, but a beautiful picnic with lots of friends, family, and fun!!!! There is a link to more pictures, but here are a few to enjoy!

We also had our power out for several days (thank you to those special friends who hosted us and all those who offered to help!!) It was quite an adventure...Dublin did great!

E-LEVEN!!!!!

While we were expecting Dublin, everything was measured in weeks. Eleven months ago today, we switched to the more logical 4-week marker. Well, this is it. After today we stop thinking in months. In 31 days (eek) she will be 1 year old. From here on out, milestones are in half and full years. Sure they may say 18 months and 24 months, but they're not fooling me. Those really mean 1-1/2 and 2 years. My baby is almost a toddler. 


So Dublin, here is to a wonderful 11 months and here's hoping for many wonderful years to come.

Memorial Day Memories

We had a great extended weekend! Dublin played with friends on Saturday and Sunday. 


We went to the Scarborough Faire...




...and Dublin met a fairie that she loved to look at. The weather couldn't have been more perfect all weekend. 

Monday we grilled at home and went to the park after Dublin watched the Rangers game with Daddy. She loves to watch and clap!!!

Catching Our Breath and Catching Up

It seems like things have been going non-stop this month! Barely time to keep up, let alone sit down and write about it! Here are a few of the things we've been up to:


Dublin is eating biscuits and drinking (whole) milk by herself!

1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9----10!!!!!!!!

We reached the ten month mark (on Thursday)! These past few weeks have been filled with worry, excitement, sadness, busyness, and illness for our family and those around us---a combination that made it very difficult to update you on dear Dublin!  

For all our friends who are still standing strong through a tough time, we are still thinking of you!



Dublin went to the doctor for a double-ear infection 2 weeks ago, but as you can see above she bounced back very quickly! Check out those teeth! She has 2 more on the top, too.

Then this week we brought her back for another fever. Turns out it was a secondary infection. Again, here she is at the doctor's office in good spirits despite not feeling well. She kept busy by admiring a variety of new hairstyles in the mirror as we waited.


And 2 days later, Dublin celebrated 10 months old by having a temp of 102.3 at 2 am. She is giving her pet pig a kiss for good luck---Here's to hoping this isn't swine flu!

We had a great Easter weekend! We spent it at Grandma & Grandpa's house. Dublin had fun watching and playing with her cousins. Saturday we visited Dublin, TX and she met her great-uncle Gary. On Sunday, Dublin had a chance to hear Grandpa sing in the choir and meet everyone at Grandma & Grandpa's church. Happy Easter!
